Every participant is supported as an individual, with activities adapted to their abilities, goals, and comfort level.

WHAT IS ADAPTIVE RIDING
Adaptive riding is a modified horseback riding program that allows individuals with physical, developmental, or cognitive, challenges to safely experience riding and horsemanship. Lessons are tailored to each rider’s unique needs using specialized instruction, adaptive equipment, and trained support staff or volunteers when needed.
Riding sessions may include:
Mounting and dismounting assistance
Balance and posture exercises
Steering and communication skills
Grooming and horse care
Riding games and obstacle activities
Confidence-building horsemanship skills
Riders participate at their own pace in a safe, encouraging environment.

WHAT IS ADAPTIVE GROUND HANDLING?
Adaptive ground handling focuses on building horsemanship skills from the ground without riding. Participants learn to safely interact with, lead, groom, and communicate with horses through structured, hands-on activities adapted to their individual abilities.
Ground-based sessions may include:
Hearts and Horses - Sensory interaction
Beyond the Reins - Learning horse body language
Barn Buddies - Grooming and horse care
Confidence Corral - Leading and walking with horses
Hooves on the Ground - Obstacles and teamwork
This program offers meaningful horse interaction for individuals who may not be ready for riding or who benefit more from ground-based experiences.
