Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) is an educational, experiential learning activity conducted with horses. Equine Assisted Learning involves interactions with horses in a guided setting to promote personal insight, self-awareness, and emotional regulation. EAL is not psychotherapy or counseling and is not a substitute for medical or mental health care. EAL is conducted on the ground only; there is no riding. EAL is NOT intended to be used as a form of treatment for any mental health disorders, physical disabilities, cognitive deficits, or any issue for which medical or psychological treatment is indicated. 

Participation in Programs

Participation in activities offered through CHAPS Center may involve physical interaction with horses and outdoor environments. While safety measures are taken, participants should understand that there are inherent risks when working with animals.

Participants are be required to sign waivers and consent forms before participating in any program.
